CAPTIVE Book Review! #FollowYourPurpose #FlyBy

I still remember turning on the news and seeing an escaped prisoner Brian Nichols peacefully surrender. This was back in March 2005 and I still remember the headlines. Then Brian, who had just murdered a judge, a court reporter, a deputy and a federal agent and escaped in a stolen vehicle. This man then held a woman named Ashley Smith hostage in her apartment. Ashley had just started getting her life on track to provide a great environment for her daughter. But her life was turned upside down in an instant.

Update Your Decor With A Fresh Coat Of Paint!

When I walk past the same items everyday in my home and after a while they simply blend in. Having my decor "pop" or "catch my eye" is exactly what I need to fall in-love with it. Decor isn't just something you stick on a shelf, it's actually an expression of yourself and who you are. While many items are just perfect the way they are some are easily updated with a cheap alternative... paint.

Farming: Then and Now!

Farming has been in existence since the world began. Without farming, we would cease to exist. Throughout thousands of years farming has changed quite a bit. From the tools used to the type of people doing the farming. Most picture a rugged man covered from head to toe with dirt everywhere and sweat on his brow. In some cases honestly that's still true but in many cases it isn't. There are generations after generations of farming families men women and children working together for one goal. That goal is to provide the best goods for their families and ours.

Meet The Boyd Family - One of America's "Finest" Farmers!

Farmers are the heart and soul of our county. Without there unending devotion to providing food for our families we would be without. Growing up in Texas, I have always been surrounded by farms of many kinds and know the hard work that is put into each and every farm. These farmers are making a huge impact everyday and must be acknowledged for how completely awesome they are. It is easy to overlook where our milk, corn, bread, and even the cotton that made our clothing came from. For farmers like the Boyd family, they are reminded everyday.

You May Already Know The Love of Your Life!

Finding "The One", is what most people search for to have and to hold through sickness and health. It can be quite a tough road for many. Lets face it, most of us go through one failed relationship after the other and the heartache is so overwhelming that we settle or give up. For me I had one failed relationship after another and was so tired of being hurt and putting myself out there. It got old so fast that I threw in the towel, I was done dating. After my last failed relationship I was having no more to do with the dating scene and decided to focus on myself. That's right, I was so focused on finding "The One", but I was looking in all the wrong places. So I stopped looking and that's when he came along. The love of my life showed up out of nowhere. He was no stranger either. In fact I had already known him for years but never even thought of him that way. It's funny how lives cross paths all the time and you don't know it. If only we could recap and actually see like they do on the TV show "How I Met Your Mother". We would be surprised that love has been there all along but we just were not ready to see it. After the day "The One" walked back into my life, I could see it. Complete love and loyal devotion had finally arrived and I already knew him. The point to this story is, you may already know the love of your life, keep your eyes and heart open. When you least expect it "The One" could be right in front of you.

Bye-Bye 20's, Hello 30's! Ready or Not Here I Come!

Today is Frugal Mom and Wife's birthday! That's right and I am super excited. Today starts a brand new decade of my life. Ready or not it arrived quicker than I ever had thought. So much has happened in such a sort period of time. Looking back I have been through many happy, sad, and uncomfortable times. What stands out the most are the awesome times. Though I feel strongly that every moment is a blessing it's the ones we cherish we hold the dearest. I started this decade under legal drinking age and ended it being a wife and mother. Not only that but thankfully I am a lot wiser than I once was. I have never felt more comfortable in my own skin than I am now. That is why I am happy for today and everyday before it that brought me where I am. Though am a slightly sad to see my 20's go, I am ready to embrace my 30's with open arms. It is an honor to be 30 and who knows what this next decade will bring but I say, "Bring it on". For my birthday today if you would like to celebrate with me go have fun and seize the day. Enjoy every moment!!
