Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Recipe!

When it comes to bacon my family just cannot get enough. Creating new and creative ways for them to eat this delicious meat can be so easy with the right directions. With this recipe you get your meat and vegetables in one dish! This makes parents and kids both happy and healthy. Below you will find complete instructions how to make these delicious Bacon Wrapped Asparagus to add some extra yummy to any meal.


INGREDIENTS:
2 lb fresh asparagus, ends trimmed
12 slice bacon, uncooked
1/2 c light brown sugar
1 c butter
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/4 c Grated Parmesan Cheese

SUPPLIES:
Measuring Spoons
Baking Pan/Dish
Toothpicks (if your asparagus is coming up-wrapped)

PREP TIME: 10 MINUTES
COOK TIME: 40 - 50 MINUTES
SERVINGS: 12 PEOPLE

DIRECTIONS:
* STEP 1 - Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

* STEP 2 - Divide asparagus spears into 12 bundles (2-3 pieces each). Wrap 1 piece of bacon around each bundle, starting 1/2" from bottom of the tips or 1" if you choose to not cut your tips. Secure the bacon-wrapped asparagus with a toothpick if needed. Arrange bundle in a shallow baking pan.

* STEP 3 - Combine brown sugar and remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan; heat mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. 

* STEP 4 - Pour 1/2 cup of mixture over bacon-wrapped asparagus. Put into oven for 40 - 50 minutes.


* STEP 5 - Pour remainder of mixture over asparagus bundles during the last 5 minutes of baking.

* STEP 6 - Remove from oven once bacon has browned and asparagus has wilted. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the entire dish.

* STEP 7 - Allow to cool and serve as desired. Enjoy!


OPTIONAL:
*Cut into 2-3" pieces and serve as appetizers.
